Michael learned to roll from tummy to back on his 4 month birthday (really he did). I was worried when it hadnt happened by that point. Every time we go to the doctor for a checkup this give us a checklist of milestones that should happen by the next visit, rolling over was the top of the 4 month list so I was worried. I know the checklist includes a disclaimer about children developing at different rates, but for some reason I was panicked. Anyway, he learned to roll over, but then he wouldnt do it again. It was as if he had done it once just to get me off his back and then decided rolling over was overrated. Recently he has started to try and roll from back to front, and this has renewed his interest in rolling the other way. This afternoon he was rolling like crazy! As soon as he was on his tummy he was effortlessly rolling to his back, and then almost back to his tummy (give him a few days). I think he was holding out on me. Michael rolled over more in a 5 minute period this afternoon than he had from 4-6 months!
Don't you love the little guitars on his shirt... it makes the title of this post even more lame.
