A Flood...

Do you have fiasco days? I do. Today was a fiasco day. The day started off fine. Michael has had a little bit of a cold so I kept him home from church, too many kids to infect, too many kids to give him something else. So we stayed home, we are heading to Utah on Tuesday and I didnt want an even sicker baby on the plane or on the trip. Anyway, since we were home and Michael was in such a good mood I decided this morning was a great time to give his hair a little trim. I do this often so it isnt that big of a deal but you have to catch him in a good mood for it to be really successful. I decided to get the bath ready before the haircut, so that as soon as we were done I could give him a bath and put him down for his nap. I got the tub out, put it on the counter, got the water to the perfect temp and started filling it. I went in the other room to get the towel, put it on the counter and started the haircut (notice anything missing). About 5 minutes into the haircut I heard water splashing on the floor, i thought I had just gotten a bit of water on the counter that was now dripping on the floor so i didnt worry, but the sound continued. I finally decided to check it out and guess what... I hadnt turned off the water... nope. The tub had overflowed and was now spilling on to the counter and the floor. I dont mean a little bit of water, I mean our kitchen was flooding. The counter below the tub was flooded, the drawer right below the tub had several inches of water (yes inches). Everything in the tub was soaked and floating. The appliances right below them were... flooded, the carpet was wet, water was everywhere. I dumped out the drawer, used 6 towels to mop up the water, and finally got it under control... it was a fiasco. The rest of the day got better, I burned dinner (just a tiny bit, i mean not even noticeable), michael wouldnt take a nap, and I cant remember the rest, but seriously... I flooded the kitchen. On a good note the haircut was fine, not bad at all.

oh no! I've done that a few times at work when I have to make coffee (one of my least favorite things to do). I get pulled away for something and when I realize it a minute later I've got a 10-minute clean up on my hands. On the bright side, Michael's haircut went well =) I can't get over how cute he is and just how much hair he has!
