Busy Season Crafting

I am not a crafter. It would be awesome if I were, but I just dont have the patience or creativity to be great at it. Since Brian is enjoying working busy season hours right now, I have some free time on my hands I attempted several Valentines crafts. The main issue (besides my lack of patience) is that I made them up... so they arent great, but still they are a bit festive. Bear with my poor photography skills.

Felt Heart Banner/Bunting

I love felt and I love red, well mostly I had some leftover felt from Brian's ketchup costume (although i do love red) and I needed to use it or trash it.

I cut out hearts from the felt and then used a blanket stitch to create a border around the heart and add some more color (not that white is a color). Then I "attached" (cough hot glued cough) them to some red ribbon.
Oh yeah and I found these red buttons on my desk and sewed a few on just to spice things up a bit.
Then I ran out of black thread and stopped doing the blanket stitch (it became and every other one sort of thing).

Heart Flower Pot

For months now I have been wanting to buy and use glitter and metalic craft paint (yes my life is that exciting). I have been trying to come up with a reason to buy them... and I finally did... to paint these adorable hearts. I purchased two packs of wooden hearts at Hobby Lobby (97 cents per pack - 30%) and started painting. let me just say I love the paint even more than I thought I would... sadly the photos dont show just how fun it is.
I painted half the hearts metalic red (with just a light glitter coat) and the other half "crimsion" with a thick glitter coat. I attached them (via hot glue) to bamboo skewers, stuck them in a red flower pot, and love it!
Flower pot and banner... not too shabby... ok not too great either but I got to use glitter paint and that is what matters.

Ribbon Rossette Wreath
I of course also had to make a wreath. I took a foam wreath, wrapped it in clearance christmas ribbon (the more glittery the better) twice and attached a few rossettes. Okay this would have been better a bit thicker, and it is almost the same color as my door, but it is a little bit fun.

Rosettes and some random buttons.

So darling. I really think we might need to teach me how to make the heart banner. I love that! My house has zero valentines decor...I think I need to visit hobby lobby after the holiday to get some cute decor cheap. Or I could attempt to make some like you! Darling!!!
