I know that I have used this title several (dozen) times since Mikey arrived... but there is no other way to say it, he is just a cute guy! From the photos we post you would think that he is a pretty unhappy little man, he seems cranky in every photo, dont worry he isnt. He is actually a very sweet and smiley guy, but he has a little bit of trouble smiling for the camera, i think because out faces are a little bit covered and he is confused about where to look (sound like another Michael to anyone?).
So some Mikey updates:
-Mikey's eyes are officially brown... not brownish green, not hazel, not even light brown...very dark brown. I love them!
-Mikey has started to sleep through the night(ish)- I know i just jinxed that, but for the past 3 weeks he has been going to bed between 7:30 and 8:30 and sleeping until 2, waking up again at 5, and then waking up the last time at 7:30. It has been so lovely! Last night he slept from 9pm until 6am. I am loving it. We came home from vacation and I had planned to try to get him on a good sleep schedule, but from the moment we got home he created the schedule and has been more than happy to stick to it. Way to go Mikey! I hope all our other kids are that easy! In addition to creating a sleep schedule, Mikey has also moved into his own room (we took down the pack and play in our room yesterday!), he is perfectly content to sleep in his own bed in his room alone, I think I might go so far as to say that at night he prefers it this way (as long as I leave the lamp on). 3 weeks in and so far so good! (yes Di, I do have the baby monitor turned up on my nightstand so I can hear him)
-Mikey loves to stand up (with help of course), he gets so excited that he is standing, he makes all kinds of cute noises while he does this, almost as if he is trying to have a conversation with us. Sadly we havent gotten a video (it's a two man job) but that is what tonight is for!
-Mikey had his 5th haircut thanks to my aunt. She used the clippers on everything but the very top (she is a pro) and he looks pretty snazzy!
-Mikey smiles all the time now! He is especially smiley first thing in the morning when I get him out of his crib, it takes him a minute to wake up and realize that he doesnt need to cry anymore but once he realizes it (about the time we cross the room to the changing pad), he is such a sweet happy little guy!

Monitor or not...if a baby is sleeping that is ALL I care about! I'm so proud of him. Way to go little dude. Seriously, a sleeping baby is the best! Like I said, not fair. You are over the FUN part of having a newborn and I am just entering this lovely new phase!!! :) Oh the joys! At least I can remember there is possibly light at the end of the newborn tunnel!!!
