Before too much time passes I have to write
about Michael’s latest festination- rubber ducks. He LOVES them. He For the
past week or so he has tried to have one with him at all times: during meals,
in the car, in the tub (of course, but there he has more than 1), walking
around the house, and of course in bed. He kidnaps them from the bathtub while
we are lifting him out and keeps the ducks until the next day’s bath. Today the
pirate ducky at breakfast, lunch and dinner with us, went on a trip to music class
in the car (stayed in the car during class), spent some time in the sandbox and
exploring the backyard, went for a violent ride in the cozy coupe, had a bath
in the tub, and almost spent some time in the toilet- this duck is a world
traveler! Yesterday the superhero duck was almost as adventurous. I can hear
him on the baby monitor (yes we have one and still use it) after he is done
screaming at bedtime (because yes that is still happening) talking to it- he
says “gucky gucky!” First thing in the morning he is thrilled to show me the
ducky. He isn’t so much a fan of the plain yellow ducks, but the colored ones
(especially blue ones) or even better the character ducks (he has a football
duck, a pirate duck, and a superhero duck) are hits. Listen up Grammy and Poppy
if you want to make a fast friend with Mikey bring him a rubber ducky, he will
be thrilled! Who knew a cheap bathtime toy would bring so much enjoyment. I
went to tuck him in tonight (after he had finally fallen asleep) and he had a
duck on each side of him in his crib… sadly I wasn’t willing to take a
photo (do not wake him up!), but it was adorable… the ducks
are well loved at our house.
He has also developed a fascination with
owls, he calls them “owlies”. He has a 100 animal book and we look through it,
his favorite thing to do is find the owls, there are two. He opens the book and
flips from one owl to the other saying “owlie! Owlie!”. HE has another book in
his bed with just one picture of an owl…loves it too. It might be time
for me to invest in an owl book or at least go search for one at the library,
maybe a stuffed owl… just thinking out loud here. Update: we saw a stuffed owl while
we were shopping with a friend at Kohl’s today…we bought it… and Michael spent the rest of the day walking around saying “owlie!
Owlie!”… he’s a fan, $5
well spent. We also asked the librarian for some awesome owl books at the
library today… and guess what he was a fan of that too!
Sadly, I didnt have any photos of the ducks or the owl (it has been a busy few days), but here are a few recent pictures of cute Mike.
I found these adorable train conductor overalls, you know the traditional blue and white striped Osh Kosh overalls, while I was pregnant and they finally fit! Totally dorky and totally adorable. Michael is in the not sitting still, I'm too busy for photos stage so these arent the best photos ever.
He loves to get in and out of the sandbox. The toys and sand arent meant to be in the box...meant to be out of the box, on the patio, or snuck into the house.
Love the cheese face, love that he knows I was trying to take a photo of him... and love how cooperative he was.He can walk from the back door to the back fence which is actually pretty far for a tiny guy. He loves to chase the cat along the back fence.
it is hard to walk across the backyard because it is a little bumpy, he falls a lot but luckily the grass is softish
He still loves the coxy coupe... but he doesnt love when he gets stuck inside... sometimes stuff happens and then he has to scream...
The phone is his favorite toy, he calls it a "hello". He finds it and carries it to the strangest places and then holds it to his ear and says "hello ammy!" or "hello daddy!" Grammy and daddy he does love to talk to you guys!
No more baby! He is a little boy now!
Loves the phone, not kidding.
See he loves it... always wants to get on the phone.
Crazy face... he is full of mischievous.
I took Michael to the dentist last week... the dentist guilted me into it. So I took him and it was... totally useless. The dentist tried to get him to open his mouth... and it took awhile. She had to give him a new toothbrush which he LOVED and then he opened up a smidge and she counted his teeth (there are 6 and a 7th breaking through), and then she brushed his teeth, for a second, with no toothpaste, not even the kid kind... so useless. Anyway this is the first and only photo I have of all his teeth, count them... there are six sharp little teeth. Oh and by the way he is a vampire. He goes in for a hug, and then bites your neck... it is lovely.
Sometimes he gets into crazy things... and when he gets caught... he has this face.

Love the teeth on that kid! I love that he loves his car. Seriously, those are the best for kids. I sure wish he was coming with you in a few days!!! Sad. I want to have him come play with Caleb again. I can't wait to hang with you in a few. FUN. And shop!!!
Don't you love being a mom? He is so super cute! I want him to play with James - they would have so much fun! James is also obsessed with ducks (unfortunately for me real ones) and the cozy coupes.
