To Swim or Not to Swim

I have a slight dilemma. The pool in our housing development recently opened (on Monday) and it is little bit hot here. The pool is wonderfully refreshing, and lovely, and I am going to pretend totally free from urine. The weather here is... hot, not August hot, but a tiny bit toasty already. See the lovely pool...
Here is my dilemma... I really dont think it is entirely appropriate for me to be wearing brightly colored spandex at this point (well I never think that spandex is appropriate or flattering by you get my drift). Yes, I realize this picture was meant to be incredibly unflattering... sitting down and taking a photo with my mac does tend to result in photos like that, but you understand that it is clear at this point that I am approaching my due date. Anyway... I have passed the basketball stage of pregnancy, completed the beach ball stage, and now am in the well... let's just say that this weekend not one but two people asked me if I was having twins.
So is it worth it, and dare I even say appropriate to go swimming at this point? Should I take the plunge and head to the pool as a brightly colored blimp (my swimming suits are NOT subtle)? The pregnancy books indicate that this would be relaxing, great exercise, and let's be realistic a welcome relief from the texas heat... but really.... oh the joys of being self conscious and pregnant... yay for 35 weeks!

I say do it... throw all caution to the wind!

First of all, people should keep the twins comments to themselves! So rude.

Secondly, I think you deserve to swim because you are pregnant in the middle of summer. Go for it!

P.S. I still don't believe you are fat anywhere besides your stomach, so I bet you'll rock the maternity suit.

Swim. You look hot, you're belly's cute, and to a woman who has has two kids, you certainly don't look like you could fit two babies in there! I would love to look like you when I'm prego. Look at it this way, at least people know you're prego, not fat! It's harder in the first part of pregnancy when you just look like you have a beer gut (at least that's what I look like).

Swimming is the BEST activity at this point. Seriously, it feels like your body is normal. Consider this. You just have to walk to the pool. stay under water, till you get out, and walk away. At which point you would cover yourself in a towel. So really, do it for you! Get that amazing relief that comes from the water taking all the weight and pressure off of your body! You will LOVE it! And if you can still fit in your brightly colored swimming suits, I say DO IT! I bet you look darling...

If I were pregnant in Dallas in the summer, heck yes I'd go swimming! Plus you look great, so you don't need to be self-conscious.
