On a completely unrelated note I finished the first draft of my graduate project! Now all I need to do is... well turn it into something that someone can actually read, but ONE DRAFT DONE! I feel like a little dance is in order here, then again I dont dance so maybe just a yay for me cheer will do the trick.

extraction site + syringe= are you kidding me!
Today I went back to the oral surgeon to have my "extraction sites" evaluated. They said everything looked great (thanks for asking) but then told me that now it was time to move on to the next phase of healing. Personally I thought the next phase involved getting on with my normal life, eating crunchy foods, and putting the whole thing behind me, apparently I was mistaken. Instead the next phase involves "irrigating the extraction sites", what in the world does that mean? Basically it means I am supposed to plunge a syringe filled with water into the holes in my mouth and force warm water into the wounds in order to avoid the build up of food and bacteria. The idea sounds fairly simple. I know that is a little bit more graphic than you needed, but seriously, what kind of sadistic person came up with that idea? In my mind plunging a pointy plastic thing into an open wound is not a good idea. To top it off the nurse let me know that if it doesn't bleed I am not doing it right, I thought these "extraction sites" were supposed to heal not remain holes forever! She also let me know that yes it would be painful, and yes I should probably start taking some sort of anti inflammatory medication again to help with the swelling, seriously does it seem like we are peddling backwards here? So where are we in the wisdom teeth saga, well back to swelling and bleeding- no chipmunk cheeks though. Oh yeah on a related note I have green bruises all over my cheeks, why didnt they warn me that this wasnt a quick process?
