Living the Dream or So To Speak

I have a professor that says, "Living the dream, or so to speak" on a daily basis. Usually, this phrase comes up in the context of discussing tasks my classmates and I are likely to perform during the course of our careers. Every time I hear this phrase I chuckle a little bit, but as I have been getting ready to graduate, move into a home, and start my "real life" I have spent a bit of time thinking about this, and as is usually the case I ended up with more questions than answers, questions like,  what is the dream I am chasing? How will I know when I have reached my goal? Is the journey just as good as the end result? Well let's just say I have more questions than answers. I spoke with another professor the other day, she asked how things were going, what my plans were after graduation etc. I told her I was looking for a job, but not having any luck. I also mentioned that we were just about to buy our first house, and that we were grateful Brian had been able to find a good job. She told me we were living the dream, so it got me thinking again, is this the dream? Are we living it already, and we didnt even know it? As i look back I would have to say we have lived a pretty charmed life, granted this has not been without sacrifice, hard work, and disappointment, but still all of that, plus daily blessings have helped put us on the path we want to be on. So I guess I am living the dream [or so to speak].
