My brother-in-law has a car that can only be referred to as the “little tin can of death”. He has been gracious enough to let me borrow this little gem while I have been in Utah (really thank you, I appreciate it). I have to admit that at first I was a little bit nervous to drive the little death trap, he rattled off a list of “things to be aware of” that made me wonder if I would even make it to provo, but it turns out the little tin can of death isn’t as bad as I thought, and yes Jared I agree with you, part of me even misses it (just a little). In case you haven’t had the privilege of riding in this beauty (and yes it is) you should know it does just what any car should- it drives, and that’s it. But to be fair it is reliable, it always drives (or at least it does in my experience), and the second most important thing- the heat works (really really well).
This morning was the first time I have driven a car other than one in several months, and let me just say it was frightening. I got in and almost didn’t know what to do (okay not that bad), I went to shift gears and it was so smooth, I managed to drive the entire 7.1 miles (yes that much), without any shaking, without concern about if I has shifted too early, and basically with very little effort on my part. What is this world coming too! Moral of the story, Jared’s tin can of death is actually not that bad, second moral- the only thing you need a car to do is drive, not look nice, not have a stereo (although I am not sure I would know how to work one even if it had one), not to have ac, just drive, with all that being said, as we look for another car (yes a “clunker”) we will be looking for one that does a bit more than drive, but nice to know you can survive on the basics!

I should have taken a drive in that sweet ride while I had the chance...
