Are you kidding?

I have just one quick question for you... why do people name their kids stupid things? Seriously I met a girl named Alaska, another named Cinnamon, and other kids with names that no one can pronounce, it seems like their parents just picked their favorite letters and squished them together to form a "name".  Do parents realize that their children will have to go by these names forever? I mean sure Cinnamon is a cute name for a 4 year old (if you are a crazy person) but who takes a 30 year old named Cinnamon seriously? Yeah that kid is never going to be a doctor, lawyer, or anything else you would consider successful, I can think of one career path... but nevermind about that. What about the kids that have normal names that are spelled "differently"? I met a kid named Mickel- what does that look like to you? it looks like "nickle" with an M to me, did you get that it was supposed to be Michael? Yeah neither did anyone else. What about Ashley spelled Ashlieghy- who does this? Wow. So please name your kids normal names, or at least names that you can sound out, 4th grade is hard enough without having a name that sounds like a snack food.
