Dear Friends and Family,
As 2011 comes to an end we are excited to look back and recap our year- 2011 was a busy year to say the least for our family. Brian spent the first few months working “busy season” hours, and Ashley spent them traveling back and forth to Pittsburgh each week. On the weekends we prepared the best we could to welcome our first child. The little dude arrived in July, and we spent the remainder of the year realizing how unprepared we actually were, adjusting to parenthood, and adoring the little guy.
Our Year in 12 Sentences (or less).
January: We found out (with 99% confidence) that we were having a little boy.
February: We confirmed that we were having a boy.
March: Brian celebrated another birthday, we survived 8 more flights, and 240+ more hours of work.
April: Ashley celebrated a birthday, we survived 8 more flights and 200+ more hours of work.
May: We traveled to California for “Auntie Em’s” high school graduation and Ashley was finally banned from flying until after the baby was born.
June: We visited Austin for the first time and attended Brian’s CPA swearing in ceremony.
July: Michael was born, we didn’t sleep, and oh yeah did I mention we had a baby!
August: Still no sleep, family flew in for Michael’s blessing, and all three of us traveled to California via plane to visit family, then drove to Utah to visit more family.
September: After so much travel in August we decided to stay home and not sleep.
October: Michael celebrated his first Halloween, we dressed up as a hot dog family- Brian was ketchup, Ashley was mustard, and Michael was the little hot dog.
November: We celebrated Thanksgiving just the three of us and enjoyed a fun visit with our friends from BYU.
December: Christmas! We enjoyed (or are currently enjoying) a visit from Ashley’s family, and Michael and Ashley traveled to Monterey with Ashley’s parents.
We hoped you enjoyed our year (in 12 sentences or less) as much as we did. We are looking forward to 2012, and all the adventures that it will bring as Michael grows up. We hope that 2012 brings us a bit more sleep and a few less diapers than 2011.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
