White Castle vs In-N-Out

Once upon a time someone told me that White Castle was better than In-N-Out. This person was from the east coast, and like many  “east coasters” was determined to prove to me that everything was better east of the Mississippi. Today we went to White Castle, just to see if it measured up to In-N-Out. I should preface by saying that I am not a diehard In-N-Out fan, it’s good, but not something I dream about, I would prefer Burgers Supreme any day, but still I had to know. So we headed to White Castle, it took a bit to find it, we had to make a quick phone call to my brother who looked up the address for us, but we made it.

We felt we were somewhat prepared for the experience, we had heard the burgers were small, so small in fact that they aren’t flipped, they don’t need to be since they are so thin. We had also heard this was a quantity more than quality type of place, so armed with that information we weren’t expecting too much. Brian ordered for us… and all I can say is it was… revolting. The hamburgers were so thin, tasteless, and covered in chopped onions, I am not even sure they were worth the 69 cents they cost. Let’s just say I was disappointed, and shocked that people were actually eating at the place. Oh yeah and the French fries (the real thing I judge fast food restaurants by) were gross… you know those crinkle cut fries you bake at home? Yeah they were those… but overcooked- don’t get me wrong I love those fries at home, but really…

The moral of the story, In-N-Out is 1000 times better than White Castle, McDonalds is even better than White Castle, and Burgers Supreme kicks White Castle’s trash every day of the week… yes I did just use that phrase.

pictures to come... when we have a good internet connection

Had I known you were attempting a bite of that food I would have halted you that very second...

I will say though, if you want a rival, or even a superior to in-and-out...I'd say the original East Coast Five Guys would do it!
