The "green movement" makes me want to scream. I know this is a harsh statement but let me elaborate, I am not referring to those people that change their habits in an effort to be better stewards of their environment, or those people that actually believe in the green movement- I wholeheartedly applaud their efforts, I am talking about the people that participate in the green movement because they want to show how trendy or "cool" they are. These people are similar to the people that talk on bluetooth headsets at the grocery store- both groups are exceptionally annoying. You know the people I am talking about- the people that take their reusable bags to the grocery store and spend the 5-25 minutes (depending on the time of day you go to the store) telling you why they are so great and why you are destroying mother earth, or the people that spend an insane amount of time telling you why cloth diapers are better and why they are better mothers than you are/or will be for using them- these are the same people with the extra trendy and expensive retro shirts, ripped jeans (they purchased them this way), and more mineral makeup than a Vegas showgirl, these are not the people that shop at DI or the people that make actual efforts to save the rainforest. These people can... well nevermind insert your own verb. I can't tolerate them, what is the point of those comments? I have decided to issue a statement to all these fake green people (if you are a real green person aka believe in the cause not the NBC promotions please disregard the following statement)
Dear Green Person,
Please do not speak to me. Yes I did just buy these jeans from the mall, yes I plan to use plastic bags at the grocery store, ziploc bags, clorox wipes, and swifers are among my must haves, I will be putting my children in disposable diapers, not because I am a bad mother, but because I just dont want to deal with washing cloth diapers, I love cheeseburgers, I dont think organic food tastes better, somethings should be disposable (if you catch my drift), and yes I did use deodorant this morning. Please walk in the other direction, it isnt that I am a mean person (well only a little) it's just that I am busy, and you are annoying, I would prefer not to deal with your holier than thou attitude. Please come speak to me again when you have some real convictions. Please do not quietly scoff at my use of plastic products- it doesnt save trees or make you a better person, it just makes you sound like you need a drink of water. It's okay for us to disagree, but please keep walking.
Have a great day.
Ashley
On a slightly related note, has anyone watched CNN lately- with all the swine flu issues why are they still talking about Michelle Obama's clothes and the puppy, arent there more pressing issues right now?

Amen sister! I HATE the green crap. I'm convinced that it's a Hollywood driven scam that businesses are jumping on just to rip people off and make them spend more money. Like Organic food...just another reason to jack up food prices!
Al Gore can...fill in the blank.
