Michael's First Car: A Cozy Coupe Joins Our Family

While we were in CA Michael had a grand time playing with my sister’s old green plastic wagon. I wanted to get him one when we got home… but apparently wagons are a seasonal thing, so I got him a coxy coupe instead. He liked to push the wagon, and yes the same thing can be done with the cozy coupe… except this one has a steering wheel, cup holder, and a fake key… so it’s better. Let’s just say he LOVES the cozy coupe.

We were so excited to give him the car. We put it right outside the hallway to his room the night before, and Brian even went to work a little bit that day so he could be there when Michael saw the car for the first time.

love at first sight

he understood the door right away, he knew he wanted to get it there.

sweet mikey in his new car. Fyi the cozy coupe was the best selling car in America in 1991,  it even beat out the Honda Civic and the Ford Taurus... yeah I read the box.

sweet guy crusin' in his car.
He loves to push it up and down the side walk in front of our house, push it while the cat is in it (why she gets in is beyond me), and get in and out.

Brian put the car together, and things appeared to be fine until… he realized he put the front wheels on backwards. It would have probably worked fine, I bet half of the cozy coupes out there have this issue, but he wanted to fix it. Let’s just say Little Tikes did not intend to have the issue fixed, he had to pry off the caps to fix it, it took awhile, and a few google searches, but he fixed it, way to go Bri!

yay he got the irritating caps off!
the only way to fix the car was to pry off the little red caps that held the axles in place... way easier said than done.
