Grammy?

How do you come up with a "grandparent" name for your parents? We can't go with "grandma ____" or "grandpa _____" because that is what we are doing on the Suker side... we need something creative, something fun, something with pizzaz (i have been dying to throw that word in), but not something so off the wall and crazy that a 12 year old will be ashamed to say or that when you hear it you do a double take and try to choke back the laughter.

I did a quick google search and found a list... most are ridiculous for example "mom-mom", really? No. "Lala", again no- perfect for a little tiny kid but what 12 year is going to say that one? Just a few more for your entertainment "gigi", "gaga", "gmom", "and "b". None of those are going to happen. The grandpa names are a little bit better, although "pepaw" is by far my favorite. I thought calling my mom "granny" would be priceless, but she disagreed, that's why the search of these names... since we are a week away and no names have been chosen my vote is for "grammy" and "poppy", nothing too out there but still not too normal... thoughts?

My mom likes being called Nana and my dad Papa. The in-laws are Grandma and Grandpa. I always called my (Southern) grandparents Mawmaw and Pawpaw.

Well, you know what they are around here...Grandpa Randy. Then my parents are Papi and Grandma Lou. I like the Nana and Papa. But really, it does get confusing for kids because with Shan's older kids they don't know what to call their other grandparents, Nana when talking about them or Grandma. Really, in the end it's no big deal. But, we love papi and grandma lou around here. Or if it's caleb he calls her grandma Lou Lou. :) Something fun to think about. What about a family tradition? Culture names, etc?
