?4U

Did that title make sense to you? Yeah it didnt make sense to me either, but since I wrote it I know what it said. Let me interpret- question for you (?4U),  see not rocket science but still could be a little easier. I am sure you are wondering why the stupid phrase, let me explain, I HATE it when people use text message lingo, in text messages, emails, blogs, and regular conversation. I know it makes you seem cooler, yeah lol is a great phrase and brb is the way to be, but seriously it makes no sense, sometimes it is more important to make sense than to be cool, I know hard to believe, but seriously it is (and what would I know about being cool I was in marching band, em it doesnt make you cool). I found a webopedia of these phrases, and thought about including the link so that you could catch up on your text message lingo, but decided not to encourage that.  It's like a cypher, so heads up if you are talking to anyone under the age of 25 in the near future or someone that looks extra cool (aka boys with shag hair, and girls in leggings).  So why the anger towards these idiotic phrases? Let me explain, I get quite a few emails every day through my job and invariably when an individual emails me about a somewhat serious (or even minor) issue they add the phrases: "cya", "lol", "hehe", "aar" or any number of other nonsensical letter number combinations. When that happens they lose all credibility in my mind, if your grade isn't worth the time it takes to type an entire word then I cant help you, okay I am more benevolent than that but "lol", really? Why have these phrases permeated our language? I hear people say lol in spoken conversation.... UGH! if you are one of these people, please stop, please write out entire words, dont send emails or text messages with these ridiculous phrases, if you have to do it, because you are physically incapable of typing anything more (unless you are ACTUALLY physically incapable) please dont send them to me, I will delete you. And just a heads up"thanks" does not have an "x" at the end, so don't add one.

*"fyi" is an acceptable phrase to use, the ONLY acceptable phrase.
