Oh look at me now, on the 51st floor looking down on it all, with my name on the door and degree on the wall...

I had a stunning revelation today. Let me explain. Today Cohort 7 (my MPH cohort) took a trip to the Utah State Capitol to observe a committee meeting. At one point several midwives presented their findings (which I am pretty sure were biased and incorrect, yes statistics can be easily manipulated). About an hour later the meeting (finally) ended. As we were walking out to the car one of the guys in my cohort turned to me and said," Ashley, I wanted to know what you thought about what the midwives said since you are the maternal child health expert." I didnt know what to say, he caught me off guard, expert? yeah right, but then I got to thinking... hm... things are changing. It is weird to be going from undergraduate to graduate and having other people recognize you as a resource when you fail to see that in yourself... anyway... i wont go into my thoughts on midwives and home birth tonight (you can read older posts) but it made me laugh... I might actually know something that can be shared, this is what I have been working towards for 4+ years but still the idea is a little unnerving.

*I know you have all been missing the song lyric titles so I brought them back for one night... what is the name of the song?

"Look at Me Now", John Michael Montgomery
