It's finally over...

I am a concerned American citizen, I like to think that I have at least some idea of what is happening in the world most of the time, I have an opinion (however well informed) about 70% of issues, however I have to say that I am so happy the election is over.

See I did vote... I apologize that all of the pictures on this blog are of me... send me some of you and then there can be some of you...

Don’t get me wrong I love the American system, I love that we have the opportunity to vote and voice our opinions, but I hate the name calling, mudslinging and lying that typically surrounds elections. It seems to me that we should ALL be better about expressing our political opinions. I am so happy that the presidential election is over for the next… 24 months if we are lucky, I am aware that the next election isn’t actually until 2012, but remember how early this one started… really… by last night I couldn’t have cared less who won, which is sad. Anyway congratulations! We all survived the election, I am interested to see what the next 4 years holds in store for America (interested, not cynical, just interested).

*On an interesting note on the night of the last presidential election I ate dinner in the Cannon Center, and last night I ate dinner guess where... that's right the Cannon Center... hey things have come full circle!

I am totally with you on the name-calling, mudslinging, and lying front. It's disheartening and a huge turn-off to see the ads and listen to the rhetoric that, to me, only serve to discredit the mudslinger himself. It's an exhausting process to watch and be a part of. But I'm so thankful that we have it.
