Brian's contribution to the blog

I wasnt here for this moment, but Brian told me about it. I had to post (sorry Di) because it was the funniest thing I have heard all week. Brian recounted this story for me... so here it is from Brian's perspective.

Brian's older brother and his wife and 2 cute kids came over today (sadly I wasnt here). At some point our three year old niece noticed some wrapped presents sitting on top of our bookshelf (they werent hidden since we didnt know she was coming) While Brian was talking to his brother, he got a little interruption. Alayna said, "excuse me Brian, excuse me" (she continued until he responded, which had to be awhile since he... yeah never-mind), when he finally answered she asked,"do you have any presents?" Brian says that she didn't ask if he had presents for her, she just asked for presents since anything would do. He told her that any presents he had he was saving until christmas, once she accepted that answer she kept looking up at the presents, as he began desperately hoping she wouldn't notice the unwrapped Cinderella puzzle. Naturally, a few minutes later she started saying, "excuse me" again, but this time she made the presumptuous observation that he happened to have a Cinderella box next to the presents, she said it as if to point something out that he didn't already know (like it was a lonely Cinderella box that he may not have noticed, which wouldn't fit into the present category since it wasn't wrapped, and our gifts are ALWAYS wrapped). Brian lied (what a bad thing) and told her that the Cinderella box was being used to store something else, and her mom reassured her that it was in fact just a box.  Even after that she kept looking up at the Cinderella box, Brian is pretty sure she was thinking she wanted to check to box for herself.  She is just way too smart for such a little person. In case you are curious or concerned the presents are for her (well two are for Brian), and yes the puzzle is also for her (thanks emily).
