"I'm falling into memories of you, the things we used to do, follow me there...

Today Brian and I had the wonderful opportunity to go to lunch at one of my very favorite restaurants, the Creamery on Ninth. I can see the eye rolls and hear the “yeah whatevers”, but as a slightly cynical person myself I have to say that the Creamery is FANTASTIC! This place is tied to the BYU experience. Trust me, as a freshman I spent a fair amount of time there: with friends, buying groceries, running people into pillars, and eating a much needed cheeseburger (sometimes you need a break from ramen noodles). I think that you should all try it. Let me just tell you this is one of the most popular restaurants I have ever been too, whenever I am there it is full, there is a huge line and the food takes forever, don’t worry this is part of the experience. The place is great, they have basically every flavor of ice cream you could ever want (do not try Graham Canyon, it is disgusting, well if you like graham crackers you might like it but those are on the list of foods I will not eat), awkward freshman dates, unique people and wonderful French fries (get the cracked pepper fries). This is just one of those places that you have to eat at to understand, there is a certain atmosphere there that cant be found anywhere else. Where else can you find freshman on dates (seriously you just have to see it to understand the pure awkwardness of the situation, having lived it I have to say there is nothing more terrifying), BYU alum bringing their kids for a burger just like “when they were there”, screaming children, and girls buying their roommates ice cream because they finally kissed mr. right (is this just a BYU thing?)? Trust me there is no place like it, you need to go.

While you are there buy a container of BYU Creamery Ranch Salad dressing, trust me you will love it, I was skeptical when my wonderful freshman roommates brought it home (first off why does it come in a milk carton?) but once you have it you cant ever go back to Hidden Valley, or Kraft or whatever inferior salad dressing you have been using. Next time you make your way down to BYU stop at the Creamery, it is worth the trip and your BYU experience wont be complete without one of their burgers.

*the title of this blog was taken from a song we played over and over and over and over my first semester at BYU... I thought that it was appropriate since the Creamery reminds me of that summer....

You make me miss BYU...

I must admit that I'm married to a man who would love that ice cream...I never had those fries, though they sound amazing...

We had some good times at that place. A few memories I'd like to forget (mostly a boy or two), but most are worth remembering. We had a great summer didn't we?

Ash, I can relate to this blog. I went there for my first time just a few months ago. I laughed at several things. One that I was at a BYU hang out. Two, the line. Three, the absolute delay in food ordering and preparation, Four...this is the kicker...the "wierd" BYU boys. I was nearly in tears. I know that I am extremely critical of those, "odd, wierd" men. But my favorite part was the family...yes, the "odd" husband/dad, four little kids three still in diapers and the mom holding a newborn. The dad trying to keep two of the kids in line with him, and then the mom nursing the newborn with OUT a blanket! Oh, I just had to laugh. Only in BYU. Truly, I agree, this is the ultimate BYU experience. Only in Provo. *But I did LOVE the food. I will go back! Maybe we should do dinner there?
