The Ending of an Era...

For all of those that were worried the title of this post was taken from a song, no worries nothing too exciting is happening.
I think that in order to really understand the title you need some context so here you go...

I think I'll take a moment
celebrate my age
the ending of an era
and the turning of a page
now its time to focus on where I go from here
Lord have mercy on my next thirty years...
(If you werent already painfully aware I do love country music, I know it is a sickness but I still love it)

I was listening to this song the other night and I thought it described how I have been feeling about this new phase of life. In case you didnt know some big things have been happening for Brian and Ashley Suker. Here are the updates:

Brian:
Brian went fishing over the weekend, he has figured out how to actually use his inflatable boat (it needed more air) and he caught five little trouts over the weekend. This is a picture of his biggest trout of that day (I need to clarify this isnt his biggest trout ever, just for that day)

Brian found a wonderful pontoon at Costco for $299.99, which I guess is a good deal... well there might be an update about that later but I thought I would give you all a heads up, Brian is serious about fishing...
Brian started school again last week, this is an interesting experience for us, I am usually the one that goes spring/summer but this summer I am taking time off (well I am not sure it was really a choice) so I am just working and he is going to school... I am not sure how this will work out, I just cant stop bothering him hopefully I will get better.

Brian recieved an offer in early April from PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Dallas, Texas. he offically accepted his offer and we will be moving to Dallas next summer. Congratulations Brian!

Ashley:
I am officially a college graduate (hence the ending of an era). I never thought that this day would come but I am officially Ashley Suker B.S. All of my grades have been submitted to the University and my carefree days as an undergraduate are over. Even though BYU and I got off to a rocky start this has been a wonderful experience, I would not trade my time here, and I do have to thank my parents for "forcing" me to come here in the first place (well force is a strong word but let's just say they gently nudged me in the right direction). I do think that it is time to contact those high school teachers who thought I wouldnt get into college and let them know that not only did I get in but I graduated and I got into grad. school, okay maybe I need to just let that go. It is interesting to be done with school, I planned to go to college for so long that I forgot to plan what I would do after I finished... oh well that is why I am continuing on. Graduation was exciting... my parents and brother and sister made the long trek from California all the way to Happy Valley. My grandparents were also able to make it, it was very exciting to have three generations of BYU grads. in one place. We all had a fun time trying on the cap and gown (sorry there are no pictures of my family, imagine them). The processional happened in the snow... I see a serious problem with the weather, I survived the frigid weather dont worry.

I turned 22 last week. I pulled out the list of things I planned to do before age 30 (you know those idiotic assignments they make you do in 7th grade language arts... what a good way to teach people how to read) while I was home and I am happy/sad to report that I have accomplished a majority of the list. I cant believe that I am getting so old (sorry to everyone that is older than 22). I guess I just thought 22 was a bit farther away... oh well. I got to spend the whole week in California with my parents and brother and sister. It was very exciting!

And finally the moment you have all be waiting for... pictures of graduation

Here are some exciting pictures of our graduation experience, imagine "the kids" and my parents...
Something about this picture seems so ironic to me...

I DID IT!!!

We all tried on my graduation "outfit" before commencement... one person had the cap, the other had the gown, anyway you will have to imagine how "the kids" looked.

The beginning of the processional... in the snow

Going up to accept my empty diploma holder

This is me getting ready, I am not sure about this picture but it has some artistic qualities to it... so you all get to see it.

Hey, I finally checked your blog and I realized that you have updated...and not just updated but you have made several posts. I will check more often now. I love the quilts, I love your decorations. We really need to have dinner down at your place again! I hope the two of you had an enjoyable mothers day. Congrats from Jared and I on graduation!! Where were we??? I'm really hoping that this happened while Jared and I were out of town, or else I'll feel really sad that we didn't get the invite! We love to support college grads. So nice job! See you soon. Di
