A Surprising Customer Service Experience...
I have a thing against calling customer service numbers… no let me rephrase, I don’t have good experience calling customer service numbers. Generally, I call the number, get put on hold, and eventually (if I am so lucky) end up talking to someone that either cant help me or wont- so I try to avoid calling these numbers. Today I had to give in and make a call. My kindle wasn’t charging and since I have to fly back home on Thursday I needed to fix that asap (one book free flight was enough for one week). So I called the number, I was nervous, I knew I would be put on hold and end up frustrated… but the funny thing is that didn’t happen. I called the number and was immediately transferred to a help menu, I selected the correct option, and was directed to a very polite amazon employee. I gave her my name and from there she was able to look up what device I had and walk me through solving the issue. After the conversation she asked if she could call back later to make sure the issue was resolved, in the event that it wasn’t she wanted to make sure to get the replacement in the mail immediately. This was by far the best customer service ever… seriously- problem solved, limited frustration, and clear communication. I am a fan of amazon customer service (totally worth buying a kindle).
