Green Apples and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies: Taking One for the Little Guy

There are so many things about pregnancy that are surprising, laughable, and confusing, but I have to say the food cravings have got to be among the strangest. At the beginning of this adventure I had an obession with salad- and by obsession I mean I dreamt about it. This was good and bad, good because who doesnt need more veggies in their life, but bad because I would eat salad instead of regular food and I didnt gain weight as quickly as I needed to. Now I am over that(and gaining weight), I can eat french fries again without wanting to throw up (most of the time, but burgers still make me want to die)- salad is still good, but not amazing like it used to be. Now the cravings switch randomly- there was the raspberry jello- yeah jello, the oatmeal, pasta, and now green apples and oatmeal raisin cookies (not together). I did not like either of these two items prior to... last week. I think I can count the number of oatmeal raisin cookies (probably cookies in general) and green apples that I have eaten in the past 5 years on one hand- but within the past two days I have eaten... well more than one (okay 2 but that is still more than one). I can't wait to see what next week will bring, if I start eating mushrooms it is time for this to be over.

On a slightly related note, my entire body hurts-all over, all the time. I think part of it has to do with being crammed in a tiny airplane seat 5-6 hours a week, sleeping in an uncomfy hotel bed 3 nights a week, and sitting in the worst chair every 40+ hours a week. Has this happened to anyone else? Please say this is normal and there is a very easy solution to the problem.

Giving birth is sort of the solution. That's not that easy, but it only lasts hours, not months. I say sort of the solution because there are some residual effects for a little while, but eventually you get your body back.

Pregnancy sounds like it is... an interesting experience. I am so excited for you to be a mom though. You are going to be great at it.
